I am both a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC).
I earned my master’s degree in counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where my education included both clinical training and theological formation. My faith has deepened and evolved with each loss, transition, diagnosis & worldly event.
With over 20 years of experience in working with individuals & families, I absolutely love this work. I spent the first six years of my career in community mental health, providing therapy to individuals and families with a wide range of clinical needs. For the last 14 years, I have been in private practice serving adults, couples and families in the Chapel Hill and Durham area.
Over the course of my career, I have pursued additional training in approaches including:
- Emotionally Focused Couples and Individual Therapy
- Internal Family Systems
- EMDR Trauma Processing Therapy
- Neurodiversity in individuals, couples and families
- Satir family therapy
- Theological integration
- Prepare/Enrich premarital assessment
Therapy With Me
I am an engaged and relational therapist…More of a coach & collaborator.
We will pay attention to what is happening not only in the stories you tell, but in the ways you experience yourself and relationships. We will also consider your physical health & I may suggest further referrals for conditions you’re experiencing, but haven’t considered as part of your mental health care.
Over time, my hope is that therapy helps you become increasingly able to trust your own capacity for reflection, connection and choice. I want you to have a good enough experience that you will be more likely to seek help in the future as needed!
“The soul is like a wild animal—tough, resilient, resourceful, savvy, self-sufficient… if we will walk quietly into the woods, sit patiently by the base of the tree, and fade into our surroundings, the wild animal we seek might put in an appearance.”
