“The soul is like a wild animal—tough, resilient, resourceful, savvy, self-sufficient. It knows how to survive in hard places. But it is also shy. Just like a wild animal, it seeks safety in the dense underbrush. If we want to see a wild animal, we know that the last thing we should do is go crashing through the woods yelling for it to come out. But if we will walk quietly into the woods, sit patiently by the base of the tree, and fade into our surroundings, the wild animal we seek might put in an appearance.”

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist & Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor serving the Chapel Hill, Durham and surrounding areas. With 20 years of experience working with adolescents, adults & families, I have developed a therapeutic style to include a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach. We will explore your relationships, environment, recent life events and stressors to gain perspective of how you are affected emotionally, physically and spiritually.
In our sessions, we will focus on how you handle stress, relational dynamics, self-esteem and your goals. As we build our therapeutic relationship, we will develop your coping skills, communication strategies and your ability to emotionally express yourself so that you can better communicate your wants and needs out in the world. It is vital to explore your exercise, nutrition, sleep and spiritual habits as part of your progress toward wellness. I am able to integrate my clinical and theological training in our work if that is something you desire.
I especially enjoy working with women & couples around these issues:
